HELMET: a full-face off-road or on-road helmet is recommended. The off-road helmet allows better cooling in hot weather; the on-road helmet is quieter and offers better protection in the rain. We advise against jet helmets.
VISORS or GOGGLES should be clean and not scratched.
For the offroad tours on a KTM 950/990 Adventure we recommend textile clothing or abrasion-resistent OFFROAD GEAR as well as an enduro jacket. SHOULDER, ELBOW, KNEE AND HIP PROTECTORS can save you in a crash. Indispensible here is a BACK PROTECTOR. A SAFETY JACKET fulfils these requirements equally well as clothing with built-in protection. Removable thermal lining (if possible). If your clothing has a breathable membrane or coating (Goretex®), you must wear synthetic, breathable undergarments, or else your clothing will not be able to fulfil its function.
Depending on the type of tour, LEATHER GLOVES with FINGER and KNUCKLE PROTECTION or MOTOCROSS GLOVES are the right choice. Don't forget your wet weather gloves.
ROBUST BOOTS are also essential on the 950/990 Adventure.
ALWAYS CARRY WITH YOU: your driving license, vehicle documents, some cash in the local currency and some wet-weather gear.
| Not permissible on our tours: trainers, pseudo biker boots, cowboy boots, hiking boots, DMs, tassled jeans, leather jeans made from thin leather, protector jeans, perforated or fingerless chopper gloves, gear without knee or back protection. | Your clothing and gear must fit! That's why tour participants must bring their own riding wear. |
